Under President Obama’s American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, federal stimulus funds won’t become available for Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) until 2011, and specific guidelines for determining what constitutes a “qualified” system are as yet undetermined. What is your organization doing to adopt EMRs? Is there anyone out there working completely from EMRs? What are some things you see critical to safe adoption of new technologies?
This 60-minute activity demonstrates how The Joint Commission's standards can serve as a framework to improve information management to better support quality of care and patient safety. Although this program will focus on transitioning to electronic medical records, participants will learn about enhancing patient safety in both a paper and electronic environment.
